Albariño (al-bar-EEN-yo) is native to Galicia innorthwest Spain where it thrives in the cool, wetmaritime climate; the nearby Atlantic Ocean imparts asignature saline note. One of the key white wine grapesof the Iberian Peninsula, it is prized for its naturalpalate-cleansing acidity, coastal brine, and expressivefruit flavours. Albariño’s popularity outside of Spaincontinues to grow as wine drinkers discover its freshnessand versatility, and the grape is now gaining ground incoastal vineyards across California, Oregon, andNew Zealand. The fruity palate is rich with orchard fruit flavours,vibrant grapefruit and lime, complemented with subtlefloral undertones.
